Nickname: "Zee"or "The Big Zee"

Born: in Germany in a refugee camp of Ukrainian parents

Early Life: Immigrated to Canada as a young boy 3 years old

Moved with family to Oakville, Ontario. Attended E.J. James Elementary school. Started playing soccer at age 6, won a provincial championship, MVP, hoping to sign a pro contract.

High School: Oakville-Trafalgar H.S.

Took up track & field as a high school sophomore in H.S. His events were the javelin throw, discus, and shot put. Won national titles in the discus and javelin. ( 242'7")

Set a National Canadian Record in the javelin and received a full Track & Field scholarship to UCLA in the javelin, also competed in discus and shot put. Represented Canada in the British Empire Games and other National Track meets.

He injured his arm as a sophomore and then became a walk-on for the UCLA Bruin Football team. He made the team after kicking a 62 yd. FG. He was chosen All-American Punter twice at UCLA (1967 & 1969). He set over 15 records at UCLA and was chosen to the All Century Team at UCLA.

Drafted by the Dallas Cowboys (9th round), in 1970 was released due to injury. He then went to Canada to play for the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL in 1971
Played 16 years as a pro kicker/punter. Made All-Pro many times

Toronto Argonauts, 1971-77, 80-82, Hamilton Tiger cats 1979, Edmonton Eskimos 1982, Montreal Alouettes 1986, scored 1080 pts. and then retired

Tampa Bay Bandits. 1983-85, USFL Special teams Player 1984, scored 305 pts.

Dallas Cowboys- 1971, Kansas City Chiefs: 1978-79

Zee is the World Record Holder of the Longest Punt- 108 yds, his longest Pro Field Goal-twice kicked 57 yards, Played 305 pro games, played exhibition games in England, Nassau, Mexico, Germany. Inducted to the Oakville, Canada Hall of Fame-2005

Ministry: Has been on over 15 mission trips which includes delivering medical supplies to Cuna Indians- Panama (3 times), to Cancer Hospitals for Children in Kiev and Odessa, Ukraine (4 times) Missions abroad in England (3 times), Germany (3 Times), Mexico (3 times).Served as Youth Chairman for the Billy Graham Crusade-1998 Tampa, Florida. Served as Youth Chairman for Luis Palau's TampaBay Fest 2007.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes: He retired from football in1987, to become the West Coast Florida Area Director for FCA
Ordained a minister in 1991 by the Southern Baptist Convention
Graduated Dallas Theological Seminary 1995 with a Master in Arts, Biblical Studies, MABS
FCA Director position since March 1987, completing 22 years with FCA in 2007.
He has been married to wife Sue, 33 years and has two children Zoe and Zuriel. Hobbies include photography, painting, working out, writing, restoring cars.
